POETRY: Imperium by Marwin's Ink
IMPERIUM
Humor my fears
Trivialize my Tremblings,
Tell me all the anxiety in my heart are the fruits of a cursed fig.
I'm cherophobic, happiness hates me and the feeling is mutual.
I crossed the bridge of my doubts last night,
The ashes smelled sweet as I watched it burn,
The truth danced like a naked maiden before my mind
I tipped it a penny for my thoughts - For making me finger my curiosity.
I hopped on a chariot with Hobbes,
We took a long swig from the same bottle of understanding,
Modernity and Civility merely clothe man's brutish nature,
In some integrations like ours, the fabric irritates,
There's no love lost between my country folks and the texture.
Another season draws nigh,
Humor my fears,
Tell me I need not put angst on my thigh,
To validate the reality of affairs,
Last week shots rang in my PPA,
What a way to kick start, such PDA,
Democracy indeed!!
Trivialize my tremblings with a mere smirk,
As I brace to bravely embrace this clarion's duty,
To Serve selflessly,
Even when my mortality is threatened,
By the dictates of the selfish juggernuts.
My quota borne out of risk, will pass through a conduit to oblivion,
The pen-robbery is not figurative,
As the executhieves might change faces but won't change bearing,
The kleptocratic blueprint will unceasingly be sailed through in a brazen manner.
Hobbes, misty-eyed squinted at the reality of things,
Barbarism transcended it's properties into the age we see,
The social schism presented on a platter by containers of Political prowess,
Lays curse on the hearts of peace and unity, branding them monotonous and humdrum.
Imperium is transitive but while we pend,
To witness the year when by sheer catalysis,
An alteration is effected on the 'norms',
We shall keep our heads high, and spirits unbroken.
